Bluehost : The Best Hosting provider for WordPress Sites

Today, efficiency and speed of a web hosting largely determine the performance of a website, and a website owner is highly concerned about their website’s accessibility. Each and every webmasters choose the best web hosting service on the basis of their features, pricing, technical support, server speed, privacy and much more. In this, Bluehost is a successful host provider of high standards because it offers the best combination of speed, reliability and price.

BlueHost was established in 1996 and has been voted as one of the largest web hosting company in the world just under 2 million domains. On reviewing all web hosts, Bluehost was found to be one of the best web hosting company in 2013. With over 15 years of experience, Bluehost serving for millions of domains and having over 20,000 new customers in a month. Their goal is to provide outstanding services for the best reasonable price.

Bluehost is an officially recommended hosting provider by WordPressDrupalOpencart and more popular website builders.

Why choose Bluehost (What Products Does Bluehost Offer)? & Their pricing.

This US-based hosting provider offers loads of different hosting-related products, from domain names to dedicated servers. Let me quickly go over their large catalog.

  • Domain names: Although they are not the cheapest domain name registrar, you can buy domain names directly from Bluehost. They start at $17.99 a year. A personal all-time favorite of mine for domain names is Namecheap as it’s cheaper and easier to manage.
  • Shared hosting: Unless you are managing a really large project or you need to geek around with your server’s configuration, a shared hosting plan is the one you ought to consider. Think of this as sharing a flat; you’ll share a server (flat), but you’ll have your own hosting space (room) — cheaper but noisier. At Bluehost their shared prices go from $8.99 to $25.99 per month.
  • WordPress hosting: Bluehost has a WordPress focused hosting service. It’s optimized for WordPress sites and comes with several perks like a staging area. It’s a bit pricey as it starts at $29.99 a month, more expensive than SiteGround.
  • VPS: A Virtual Private Serveris something in between a shared hosting and a dedicated one (read below). You’ll share a server with other clients, but there’s a (virtual) wall between your projects and theirs. This type of hosting is recommended for those needing special server configurations (e.g. using a particular programming language). VPS hosting plans go from $29.99 to $59.99 a month at Bluehost.
  • Dedicated servers: Adequate for those websites that generate tons of traffic and/or need a top-performing server. You can think of this as having your own house; no neighbors or roommates to bother you.
  • Ease of use: BlueHost aims to make hosting as easy as possible for the people who are starting their websites for the first time. BlueHost c-Panel is extremely easy to use and has a very simple interface. In c-panel, you can also check-in on your site’s latest traffic statistics and use the web-based file manager, which allows you to complete a variety of tasks, including backing up you sites and managing your FTP accounts. Email is easy to set up and manage, and you pretty much have access to anything you need for your site.
  • One-Click Install your Favorite Scripts:Bluehost integrate MOJO Marketplace program in its cPanel which makes it very easy to install third party scripts to your hosting account.

MOJO Marketplace provides easy one-click installation and management of popular applications like WordPress, JoomlaPrestaShopConcrete5Drupal, and more. With just a click of a button you can have your favorite app installed in seconds!

  4. PHP7, HTTP/2, NGINX Caching

  7. Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate & Cloudflare CDN
  8. New Bluerock control panel, built in NGINX caching
  9. Very user-friendly.I’ve walked many coaching clients through this process and they’ve all been able to master it.
  10. You appear far more professionalto companies and clients if you have your own self-hosted blog. Google is also going to give your content preference in search results.
  • UNLIMITED EVERYTHING.No restrictions here!

Bluehost Cons (7 Things they don’t want you to now):

  1. No free website migration
  2. No free daily backups & restore
  3. Constant upsells: Their system is packed with continuous upsell pitches, which gets annoying.
  4. Speed isn’t great: In our tests, Bluehost didn’t come out great, in fact it was one of the slowest providers.
  5. Only US-servers: Unlike other providers, you only have the option to host your site in the US. If your readers come from other regions, they could face having a (very) slow site.
  6. Poor backup options: Their default backup solution is fairly limited. My guess is that they try to push users to get their paid product.
  7. No free migration: Unlike most of their competitors they won’t migrate your sites for free. If you want to use this extra service, it’ll cost you about $150 to migrate 5 websites.
